What is a perfume decant?
If you’re new to decants, the idea is refreshingly simple: the same authentic fragrance you’d find in a boutique, in a smaller format made for trying before you commit. Here’s everything worth knowing.
The simple definition
A decant is a measured amount of a genuine perfume — 2, 5 or 10 ml — transferred from its original retail bottle into a smaller atomiser. The juice is identical to the full bottle; only the format changes. Think of it as the same fragrance in a size built for trying and travelling.
Why decants are smart
Luxury bottles ask you to commit fifty or a hundred millilitres — and a lot of money — to a scent you may have only smelled on a blotter. A decant lets you live with a fragrance for days or weeks first. You discover how it wears on your skin and through the day before deciding whether to invest in a full bottle.
How a Clic Scent decant is made
We buy sealed flacons at retail, then fill each atomiser by hand in clean conditions and seal it for transport. For the houses we carry, the source batch is kept on file. Nothing is diluted, mixed or altered — what reaches you is the original fragrance, simply in a smaller, travel-ready glass.
